Unmasking Industry Influence in Timișoara, Romania
Empowering Youth for Sustainable Health
12–18 October 2026
From 12 to 18 October, 20 participants, led by 4 YHO trainers, joined a five-day international training course in Timișoara, Romania!
They explored how commercial industries influence youth health, everyday choices and public policy, and how young people can respond.
They also created an educational game on the topic, which they will now distribute in their own countries.
The Programme: What are Industry Influences
On the first day, the participants got to know each other and explored the basic concepts of the training, such as human rights, youth rights and youth health, and sustainability.
Then the knowledge-building sessions followed for the next two days, with a focus on what shapes youth’s habits and health behaviours, industry tactics and manipulation, and youth activism and advocacy.
On the final two days, the participants developed their own educational board game on the topics explored in the training. They learned how to design one and prepared everything needed for the final design. They also developed local action plans for how to distribute and use the game in their own communities.
What Comes Next?
One of the participants is now preparing the graphic design of the educational game developed during the training.
Soon, all participants will receive the game for translation and use in their own communities!
