Working language: English
Registration deadline: 31 July (early bird), 30 August (regular), no deadline (late)
The Portorož Youth Health Forum brings together youth workers, youth health advocates, health professionals, experts, and stakeholders from across Europe and beyond to explore the role of young people in shaping healthier societies. By connecting youth work with health promotion, prevention, advocacy, and policymaking, the forum creates a space for practical learning, exchange of ideas, cooperation, networking, and the development of new approaches to youth health.
PYHF 2026 is organized in the framework of the YHO Annual Work Plan, supported by European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe (Structural Grant – Reference 7222.SG2.2026-2027).
PYHF 2026 is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme, with the support of the national agency MOVIT.
Ideas and Aims
The aim of the Portorož Youth Health Forum 2026 is to empower and improve the skills of youth health advocates and youth health workers with a focus on health prevention and promotion, research and relevant data, networking, advocacy, campaigns, and policymaking.
The main goals of the Portorož Youth Health Forum are:
1. To empower youth workers by strengthening their capacities in the fields of health promotion, research, networking, advocacy, campaigns, and policymaking.
2. To increase the knowledge and skills of youth health workers in developing and implementing youth health interventions, designing innovative health solutions for young people, and leading effective advocacy campaigns aimed at influencing policymaking and ensuring the meaningful involvement of young people in health-related topics.
3. To review the existing declaration on European youth health work, which includes statements and recommendations for governments, decision-makers, and international organizations. The declaration was developed during the first forum held in 2023, and PYHF 2026 will provide an opportunity to update and strengthen it with new findings, insights, and strategic directions.
4. To create a hub for cooperation and innovation in the field of youth health, which will further improve youth cooperation in this area and strengthen the international perspective and global understanding of issues related to young people’s health.
