Third Regional European Alcohol Policy Youth Conference
25th to 28th July 2022

The aim of the 3rd REAPYC is to building capacity for young people to become advocates of a more comprehensive alcohol policy in Europe. The conference will gather up to 40 participants from various European countries and will offer parallel sessions focusing on youth research on alcohol, project development and advocacy on alcohol policy.
Idea and aims
YHO works towards health and wellbeing of young people, through promotion of healthy lifestyles and prevention of non-communicable diseases, including mental health and environmental health. It develops and supports evidence-based and effective policies to assure health-promoting environments for young people.
The main goals are to:
- Raise interest among young people and youth organisations about prevention of alcohol harm and alcohol control policies;
- Promote evidence-based projects and exchange knowledge of good practices for alcohol abuse prevention;
- Empower the participants with the necessary skills and capacities in order to effectively work on the field of alcohol;
- Empower the participants with the necessary tools to engage in advocating for more comprehensive alcohol policies at regional level;
- Provide the necessary tools and training for participants to be able to conduct projects to improve youth health;
- Give participants the opportunity for networking with public health professionals and organizations, working in the same topics.
Participation Fee
The participation fee covers the conference pack, local travel and lunches for the duration of the event. The participation fee varies upon the time of your application/ registration. You can lower your participation fee by applying early – see the different fees below.

Accomodation and Costs
The Bridge House is a well-established family hotel in the midlands of Ireland on Bridge Street, Tullamore, County Offaly. The meeting will take place in the Millenium Room. The reception is accessed at the side of the building from Bridge Street.
The participants that are not members of any organization, cover the accomodation and other costs on their own .
Travel and Costs
Tullamore is served by train from Dublin’s Hueston Station, the final train on Sunday is 20.30, the journey takes just under 1 hr. The “Dublin Express” coach connects the airport to the train station for €7 taking approximately 30 minutes. This is the method we would recommend.
There are number of busses and coaches from Dublin City Centre to Tullamore. Some are from the central bus station and another from the city centre with departures on Sunday at 18.30 and 22.30.
The participants that are not members of any organization, cover their own travel costs.
Selection process and confirmation of attendance
The applicants that have no connection to the Alcohol nor Tobacco Industry (it is a mandatory declaration during the application process below) are considered approved after the participation fee has been paid.
Selected participants will receive the confirmation by email with a Welcome pack and information for the transfer of the participation fee in three working days after the application has been submitted. Your place at the conference will be guaranteed after the receipt of the participation fee or booked tickets confirmation.
The spots for the conference are limited and prticipants will ce accepted, based on the “first come, first served” basis.
