Country Office in Montenegro: Launch of “Chapter 27 and one half: Climate Health and Youth"
YHO Montenegro launches a new national project.
YHO Montenegro Country Office yet again proudly announces the launch of a brand-new national project that connects climate action with youth health and participation! brand‑new project – “Poglavlje 27 i po: Klimatsko zdravlje i mladi”.
In the upcoming months, fifteen young changemakers from Montenegro will gather to dive into the Inkubator zelenih ideja – a three‑day program designed of interactive workshops, participatory mapping of eco‑changes, and a dynamic Green Hackathon. Together, they’ll explore how climate change impacts youth health, design innovative solutions, and co‑create campaigns that inspire their peers.
And that’s not about it. The best youth teams will showcase their ideas at the World Café mladih za klimatsko zdravlje, connecting civil society, institutions, and local communities in dialogue. The final highlight? A published Katalog omladinskih zelenih ideja i preporuka, amplifying youth voices on the mission for healthier, more resilient communities.
“It feels special, because this project idea actually represents a strong example of how international practices complement our national context, with the Green Hackathon at its core. It is especially sensitive to our current moment, as Montenegro moves through the era of EU accession with Chapter 27 on climate change and environment being the most demanding to close. The idea is to bring climate health closer to young people, not only to understand the challenges, but to actively shape the solutions. There is no youth health without climate health, and their ideas are essential.’’
– Elena Miletić, Project Coordinator, YHO MNE
Implemented by the Crnogorska organizacija za zdravlje mladih, the project is supported through the YES iHub grant scheme, carried out by Juventas in partnership with Help Montenegro, ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy, and the Network for European Policies – MASTER, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and co‑financing by the Ministry of Regional Development and Cooperation with NGOs.
