PROTECT-EUROPE

January 27, 2023

HPV is a health threat of which the majority is aware, but they do not take it seriously enough or they are not conscious of its serious consequences… The highest prevalence of HPV is observed in young adults, therefore, it is necessary to implement effective health education interventions.

PROTECT-EUROPE is a EU4Health Project, coordinated by European Cancer Organization and it is being performed within EU4Health Programme 2021-2027.

Its deliverables are:

  • Establish communication on HPV vaccination between clinicians, young people, and their parents/caregivers.
  • Developing effective public health messaging on HPV vaccination aimed at young people and their parents/caregivers.
  • Proposing innovations that improve uptake (e.g. bundling adolescent vaccines).

The project has just started and its activities will be planned for the next three years, leading the project communication, dissemination, and exploitation efforts in consultation with 33 other project partners, which we are also a part of.

26th of January, we attended the project’s first Kick-Off Meeting, where we talked about its strategies, goals, and objectives, and set some interventions. Later that day, we had an official launch presentation which was held at the European Parliament of Brussels.

Youth involvement was given an important role in Work-Package, in honor of which, we were able to introduce ourselves and highlight our expectations for participation in similar projects in the future as well.

You can regularly monitor the activity and progress of the project on the website.
