School of Public Health and Advocacy: Alcohol prevention

2022 Youth Advocacy School is a 3-day intensive educational event, which brings together young people, members of youth organizations, youth workers and experts for discussions, interactive training activities and workshops on the subject of Advocacy, Youth Health and Youth Participation.
Idea and aims
This advocacy school will cover »How to« design public health-related policy documents and use them in advocating for comprehensive public health policies on different levels. If you are interested in public health and advocacy as well as want to know and do more about Youth public-health issues in your city, country, or even Europe, then you are in the right place.
The main Advocacy School goals are to:
- To raise interest among young people and youth organizations about public health;
- To promote evidence-based projects and exchange knowledge of good practices for advocating for important youth public health issues;
- To empower the participants with the necessary skills and capacities in order to effectively work on the field of public health and advocacy;
- To empower the participants with the necessary tools to engage in advocating for more comprehensive health policies at regional, national, and international levels;
- To provide the necessary tools and training for participants to be able to conduct projects to improve youth health;
- To give participants the opportunity for networking with stakeholders, public health professionals, and organizations, working on the same topics and to get acquainted with issues and challenges in the field of alcohol policy and prevention.

Participation Fee
The participation fee covers the conference pack, local travel and lunches for the duration of the event. The participation fee varies upon the time of your application/ registration. You can lower your participation fee by applying early – see the different fees below.

Travel and Accomodation Costs
The participants cover their own travel costs to and from the venue in Slovenia and their accommodation. We can assist you with the reservation of the accommodation in a 4* hotel. The cost of a single room is 74 € per night and double room 106 € per night (both including breakfast and dinner). Other accommodations can be booked here.
Nearby airports
Nearby airports are Trieste Ronchi Airport, Ljubljana Airport and Venice Marco Polo Airport. We will provide 10 % discount codes for the door-to-door shuttle transportation company GoOpti.com. Direction for public transport will be provided upon registration.
Selection process and confirmation of attendance
The applicants that have no connection to the Alcohol nor Tobacco Industry (it is a mandatory declaration during the application process below) are considered approved after the participation fee has been paid.
Selected participants will receive the confirmation by email with a Welcome pack and information for the transfer of the participation fee in three working days after the application has been submitted. Your place at the conference will be guaranteed after the receipt of the participation fee or booked tickets confirmation.
The spots for the conference are limited and prticipants will ce accepted, based on the “first come, first served” basis.
