Many young representatives, including 10 members of the International Youth Health Organization, attended the World Health Summit in Berlin from October 13-15, 2023. The event brought together health experts and policymakers from around the globe. Some of the discussed themes were women’s health, digitalization, prevention and healthy living, mental health, and emergency preparedness. The voice of the youth resonated throughout the event. One of the youth representatives, Omnia El Omrani, delivered an inspiring speech at the opening ceremony, calling for addressing systemic inequalities her generation is experiencing.
The event also witnessed youth participation through a session held by Young Physician Leaders, who shared challenges, inspiring stories, and lessons gained in their roles as young leaders. One of the main messages was:
“Don’t aspire to the title of a leader, but to the positive influence you have in the world.”
