On February 2023, a series of earthquakes caused tens of thousands of deaths across eleven provinces of Türkiye. The women’s health situation in the aftermath of these earthquakes gave a clear reflection of gender inequality at large. In this context, the “Healing from Women to Women” project, aimed to increase women’s access to health information, rights and services in Hatay, and to strengthen the dialogue between the women in the region. Twenty women who had been living in container cities or were part of the local community, were trained as “women’s health ambassadors”. These ambassadors established voluntary circles with the inclusion of local women living in the region and raised awareness on sexual and reproductive health and rights, reaching over 500 women.
